About Us
Mike’s culinary journey is one of family, perseverance and faith. Immigrating to the United States from Vietnam as a young boy, he was instilled with the entrepreneurial spirit and the belief that through hard work he could provide a great life for himself, and most importantly provide for his growing family.
His restaurant was founded in 2003 and began as a food truck not far from where the HWY 6 store is located today. By providing quality dishes of fresh seafood and outstanding customer service, he was able to open a second truck two years later. He persevered through the rigors of starting one’s own business from scratch, and as a minority immigrant had faith that his hard work would pay off. Through support of the community, within four years he was able to open his HWY 6 location, and the rest as they say, is history.
During this time period Mike also pursued his passion of martial arts, amassing a combined 11-4 MMA record at the amateur and professional levels. He is well known in the local Houston martial arts community for his hard work, dedication and sacrifice. He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a worlds medalist, most recently winning bronze at the 2021 NoGi World Championships.
Mike is a proud American, and his life inspires generations of young people and immigrants to be the best versions of themselves. His story embodies the ideals of the American spirit: liberty, self-government, equality, individualism, diversity, and unity. He looks forward to serving you and your family and sharing with you the same joy that he has been passionately providing his customers for almost two decades.

This is a really good little spot. The fish was good and the chicken was delicious. I had the bbq flavored chicken and it was so good. My parents had the fish which was very well seasoned and fried perfectly. The fried rice was really good too. They have shrimp fried rice too. This is a cute little spot from the outside it’s hard to tell but it’s a cute little spot. Very good food, worth visiting.

This is Mike’s 2nd spot in Houston. The BEST house fried rice and a top 5 crawfish spot in Houston. Mike’s story to success is one that is admirable… an immigrant who started with a food truck quite a few years ago and today is starting construction on his third location. The seafood selection and seasoning is top notch!

Went to Mike's after 2pm for a late lunch. Love the freshly fried fish, shrimps, oysters and fries. Good portion too! Friendly staffs with good service. This place always have people coming and going. Highly recommend to dine in or just pack and go. You won't be disappointed.

Great service, tasty food. Nice outdoor patio. We’ll be back to try their other wing flavors. They only allow 1 flavor per 10 wings, it’s worth ordering the wings (garlic parmesan pic below) We ordered a little bit of everything & all food was seasoned well & fresh.

This place is awesome! The food was fresh and tasty! The staff was friendly and the inside was clean. If you don’t like spicy get mild for your broil… because even that has a kick. The prices are more then reasonable and they give you a lot of food. I highly recommend and will come back!!

This is a gem in the cypress area. Great food on top of great customer service is what I value. The taste is comparable to crawfish and noodles in bellaire. Its good good. When you double up your adjectives, you know whats up! 10/10
